KAT turned 18 today! She got home from a sleepover at 8:00 this morning and took a nap. At 12:30 we went to a BBQ/pool party at a friend’s house. Afterwards she picked out her own BD cake. While she was getting ready for an under 21 dance party at a local club we got her gifts and cards ready. She was very happy to hear that we are ordering her a laptop through her college. This means that if something goes wrong she will receive support and even a loaner if needed. When we asked if she felt older she said no, but she was excited about getting to register to vote and being old enough to buy lottery tickets. Tomorrow she and Jess will make their first solo trip to the beach. We are nervous about letting them go alone, but grateful that we can trust them to take such a trip safely. What will parents be doing? Relaxing after a few required chores, of course.
