I bought Frank (my road bike) in July of 2010, and rode him in every race beginning with my second triathlon. I put over 10,000 miles on him and spent plenty of money since then upgrading and and keeping him in tip-top shape. Beginning tomorrow, he gets to take a break from racing, but will continue to take group rides with me in Connecticut and be my dedicated smart trainer bike during the winter months. Today I picked up my new bike from Grace Bicycles. Since these pictures were taken she’s already acquired a Speedfill and rear hydration system. Notice I referred to her as “she.” That’s because as I was loading her into my Jeep she revealed herself to me. She asked to be called “Cindy,” after my friend who passed away this past Monday. Every time I take her for a ride and race her, I will be reminded of my dear friend, and she will continue to encourage me as she’s always done.
