Our New Mexico – Texas trip was sandwiched with a visit to Lou’s parents in Albuquerque. If you’ve been following me for over a year, you know they downsized from a rather large home in White Rock to a luxury retirement apartment complex in Albuquerque last year. This was my first visit to them in thier new home, and I was very impressed. Judging by the reaction of our friends who visited while we were there, we aren’t the only ones who are impressed by them. It’s definitely on the pricey side, but when you factor in all the amenities, it’s easy to talk yourself into moving in. We had a very nice visit, and ate ourselves silly. On the second day of our visit we had planned to work out in thier weight room but there was an exercise class happening at the same time. We decided to walk the halls instead. On our third trip around, a lady resident who was doing the same with her walker informed us that it was a quarter mile round trip. By our estimation, we walked a good couple of miles that morning. It was very nice to spend time with Lou’s parents but, as always, it felt like it wasn’t enough.
