Another Fun Week With Moja

Moja has been keeping a diary of her adventures in her new pack.

Not many puppies can say they went to an ivy league college. I went to Brown University today and got to meet a bunch of The Lady’s friends. After I was held and mooned over by a dozen people we went to Johnson and Wales and the nice Amanda-girl The Lady picked up let me take a long nap in her lap on the way home. The Lady says I’m going to make a great therapy dog some day because I’m so well behaved. I was having a red letter day until The Hairy Faced Man came home and I peed on the carpet.

I did a very bad thing this morning. It was the worst thing I ever did. I chewed on The Lady’s Kindle. She was so mad at me until she realized it was her fault for leaving it so conveniently within reach of my razor sharp teeth. We struck a bargain. She agreed to not discipline me if I agreed to keep watch over her while she’s reading. Deal! I think it’s a win-win for me.

Did I happen to mention that my pack is super active? Well let me tell you that this is not a pack for wimpy dogs. They took me on my first hike today. It was, they claim, not very challenging. “Just an easy breezy walk in the woods”, they said. That’s easy for a human to say, but not for a toy puppy who’s determined to keep up with the big kids. It’s especially challenging for a toy puppy who happens to be bred from herding stock. I ran myself stupid trying to bring the retrievers back to the human herd. Towards the end I figured out that if I jump real high as I’m running next to them I can sink my teeth into the scuffs of their necks, hang on for dear life, and redirect them in the direction I want them to go. They don’t like that very much. Let’s just say that by the time we turned back to the car THEY were following ME.
