It was not the cheapest thing we ever did, but it was one of the most adventurous: A ride through the desert in temps over 100 degrees on a Harley. Fortunately, we had rented the Harley from a dealer who also acted as a tour guide. Turns out, no one else had signed up for the ride that day so we had him (Serge) all to ourselves. Walking into his shop (Prestige Motocycle Tours and Rentals) was like running into a friend we hadn’t seen in years. We liked him immediately. We took frequent breaks, he kept us entertained with his stories and made sure we were well hydrated and fed. He took care of everything, from where to stop when, to photoshop and GoPro opportunities. He even gave me a selfie stick so I could take my own shots of interesting things along the way. We’re looking forward to seeing how the montage from the GoPros on his bike, our bike and the selfie stick turns out.
If you love riding (he has bikes other than Harley, too) and you love adventure, you’re going to love this experience. It was the best thing we’ve done on one of our vacations ever.
