Our flight to London Friday morning was cancelled! We didn’t find that out until Lou went online to print out our boarding tickets. This was at 6:30pm on Thursday. The first thing he did was call British Airways to re-book. Turns out, the only way we could still catch our connecting flight to Dubai on Friday evening was to catch the 10:30pm Thursday flight out of Boston. Am I relieved that for once I didn’t leave the packing and pre-vacation chores until the last minute? I’m ecstatic, actually. I’m even more ecstatic that our house sitter was able to start a day earlier with just a text request. She’s all mine so don’t even think about asking for her contact information!
Thankfully, everything else went swimmingly well. We had a smooth drive in, smooth sailing through security, smooth flight, a few hours of sleep, a light breakfast, and we’re parked in comfy chairs next to a 110 outlet for the next 10 hours. Perfect time to write the first entry of our trip report.
