Today was KAT’s very first sprint triathlon, and it seems it won’t be her last. She’s resting comfortably now and says she feels great. That’s good. That’s what I wanted for her. Too many people push themselves too hard the very first time and end up injured or hating the experience. The original intent was for us to race together, but since I have an injury (plantar faciitis and bone spur on my heel) I’m under doctor’s orders to not run. Instead, I limited my race to swimming and biking and Lou completed the run with her. Her time was really good as a first-timer; especially her swim. She’s incredibly fast! I had to work really hard to keep up. In fact, it was my best time ever in this race. Whew!
