50 Anniversaries

My parents have been married for 50 years. Fifty years is a lot of time to get things wrong or to get things right. They got things right. Theirs isn’t a mushy kind of love. Its a love that’s evolved over time from the giddy anticipation of their youth to an unbreakable bond born of the trials, tribulations and joys of a shared life. We couldn’t have asked for a happier and more peaceful existence for them than the one they enjoy in their retirement years. They’ve made many good friends during this time, some of whom were in attendance at their celebration this past Sunday. We enjoyed spending time with them and meeting the people they spend so much time with these days. Its well known that parents never stop worrying about their kids, but its also true that the kids never stop worrying about their parents. After this past weekend we worry a little less.

That was such a nice write up about us. It has been a tough 50 years but very worth it. The friends we have down here are wonderful. They would do anything for us. You guys don’t have to worry. The only time I had to take Dad to the hospital a couple years ago, our friends Dean and Betty went too and refused to go home until they sent him home. We are like a big family here and we take care of each other. The party was such fun!!! It will be some thing we will always remember. Love you guys.
