We hosted the triathlon clubs’ official end-of-season party at our estate today. It was so nice to see everyone together, and in clothes that weren’t wet or sweaty, or sporting a helmut, plastered hair head. I wasn’t sure I recognized a couple of people at first. There was more than enough food, dessert, and liquids to sustain more than twice the people who were able to attend. After everyone left we realized we had forgotten to share the pumpkin ice cream we purchased from the Big Apple several weeks ago for this occasion. We had so much fun talking, eating, and competing in an obstacle course that we forgot we were supposed to be decorating pumpkins. We still have five that weren’t hurriedly painted at the last minute. I’m not sure what we’re going to do with them other than keep them out of Jazz’s reach. Speaking of Jazz, she and Phila had almost more fun than the humans. They were played with so much that they’re already sacked out for the night. They’re sleeping soundly on the back porch, and barely raised their heads when Kendra left to return to school. This event was great fun, and I hope we can continue to host it every fall.
