2018 Goals … How did I do?

having-goals

Its the time of year when I take stock of what I’ve accomplished over the last year compared to what I planned to do going into the new year. While I’m always disappointed when I don’t nail them all, I’m pleased at what I got done considering the challenges life threw at me along the way. My goals for next year will likely be completing (or starting) what I didn’t finish this year, and amending my athletic goals.
======================================
GOAL A: Read two books per month. STATUS: Complete. I read a total of 78 books, or 6.5 per month.
GOAL B: Surpass the 2017 miles in all disciplines and number of strength training hours. STATUS: Partially complete. I completed fewer workouts and spent less time doing them, but I increased my mileage by 817. Sadly, I only spent half the time as last year doing strength workouts.
GOAL C: Return to volunteering when the work assignment ends (est. early February). STATUS: Did not start. My work contract was extended through the end of 2018.
GOAL D: Become an Ironman. STATUS: Complete.
GOAL E: Complete the “Writing Great Fiction” course. STATUS: Partially complete. I still have about 50% of the goal remaining.
GOAL F: Finalize the first “Jersey” chapter book and send it to an illustrator. STATUS: Partially complete. I did not finish it, but I have it in first draft form. I did the preliminary work to select an illustrator.
