Our precious Sandi departed this world at 6:30 this evening. Her kidneys failed her, and they were too damaged to try to find the underlying cause. We will miss her, and would like to share with you a few of the reasons we love her so much. I’m sorry there are no middle year pictures. We still haven’t extracted the photos from our decommissioned PC.
She was Jessie's 5th Birthday present from her daddy
She gave kisses right from the start
She loved Jess from the moment they met
She could definitely be a rascal
She wanted to be just like Ginger (the dog) when she grew up
She was so cute that she looked like a stuffed animal
She could sleep like a champ
and didn't mind being carried around as though she WERE a stuffed animal
Until the week before she died, she never stopped doing this to us
She was very determined to reach the awkward water pail
As I said, she could be a rascal
She knew who was the boss of her
Although she was curious, she never jumped in even when she was invited
She followed Jess around like a little the puppy dog she was
As she grew, she remained very patient with whatever Jess wanted to do with her
She could tell you how she felt just by looking at you
Brrrrrrr ... or not looking at you
She was a great role model for Phila
And loved to hang out with Lou wherever he was in the yard
She would even pretend to want to play fetch when all she really wanted was for you to hand it to her
... and how can you not love a dog who thinks your new ride is slammin'?
She always waited patiently in the truck while dropping off Lou and the girls so we could go to the back country
... but once we were there, she wondered what was taking me so long to get ready
In return, I'd wear her out but good
... but only after she got sufficient love from Jess
... and tried to wake Lou for a little more
She wasn't vain, but occasionally we'd catch her looking pensive
She could sleep anywhere
She loved to comb the beach. We had to keep her on a leash so she wouldn't disturb the piping plovers
Lou found a really cool new use for her head. A beer holder!
She liked her shared dog bed, but she much preferred to share the parents' bed when they went on trips
Phila also found a new use for her. A head warmer!
She wasn't sure what to do with some of the toys we presented her with
